Hello! My name is Natalie Brown and I’m one of the outpatient therapist here at Calming Waters. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been practicing since 2016. I take a relational approach to therapy and believe that the client-therapist alliance is integral to the success of a client’s goals. I believe we all experienced trauma in different ways as part of the human experience and it’s important to recognize how our body responds both biologically, as well as psychologically, to stressors.
My practice approach is integrative, but I often draw on sensorimotor psychotherapy approaches, trauma informed approaches including cognitive processing therapy, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and somatic mindfulness. I have experience working with children, adults, and older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, family, conflict, attachment issues, borderline personality disorder, and anger.
